During our last excursion to the Guadalhorce-mouth we searched under a post, where white excrement tracks were to be seen, specifically for pellets. And we were lucky enough!
Pellets are non-digestible food-residues (bones, feathers, skeletal parts) which from many owls, raptors etc. are disgorged. Inside it a biologist can very well examine, from what the bird lived.
We found this roundish and …
… this longish pellet. Both were compact and contained lots of hair:
