White spoonbill (Platalea leucorida)

In the saline of Bonanza

is living to our great joy during summer

also a remarkable spoonbill colony:

This adult spoonbill bashfully turns away, because he had to do an urgent business!

The adult spoonbill has a black beak with yellow tip and during summer long decorative plume on the head. Young spoonbills have a complete pink beak, which is getting darker as time passes.

These are also adult animals, as one

can see because of having black legs:

While flying the spoonbills are easy to distinguish from the white herons/egrets due to their forward stretched head:
