For our new bird species
Aha, this hill perforated by nest holes near the hotel looked already promising. We just stayed in the car and waited what would be coming:
And there it was, a European roller (coracias garrulus)
And a little bit further another one!
We were enthusiastically however we only could watch from a proper distance!::
Two Dutch bird watchers I obviously drove crazy by asking them "did you see anything interesting?" , because they just stared dumbfounded at me, till finally one of them pointed silently to a gorse in front of our nose. My goodness …
"… there was sitting, until this very moment not recognized by us, a great spotted cuckoo!
