Care station "Los Hornos" at Sierra de Fuentes
And as we once had been at the care unit we were friendly invited to look around the nice installations and the foster animals. Whereby only those animals were shown, which are lifelong depending on care and are used to people in the meantime.
Mr. Heron and Miss Stork seemed very pleased!:
This poor barn owl was born without eyes and found by children who brought it to the care station, where it is living now already for years and trustingly is coming on the hand of the caretaker!:
Also this Iberian imperial eagle will never again be released to freedom, because its right wing is permanently damaged:
Attentively this beautiful Bonelli's eagle is watching what is happening!:
The griffon vulture came straightaway for …
… a portrait photo walking along. Very impressive, to see these big animals from so close!:
And here a young Egyptian vulture and …
… an adult one!:
On the left side is a red kite, on the right side a black kite!:
The short-toed eagle does not miss anything!:
It was pointed out, that the short-toed eagles eyes are situated lesser sideward than the other eagle species and he is focusing, as humans, with both eyes!:
Well this morning went its way quite different from what we had planned, but of course first of all we were most happy, that "our" black kite was helped and of course it was really exciting to get to know this centre in Sierra de Fuentes and these nice animal-loving peoples!
So many experiences and informations we had to digest. - And this wonderful impressions of the life of single bird-families which can be watched in nature if you take your time. So many nice scenes and also dramatic ones.
