Brazos del Este

Travel report Brazos del Este and Saline at Bonanza
September 2009

Again and again in the lonely streets of Brazo del Este large flocks of ...

... Spanish sparrows are to be met, who ...

... enthrall us with their rapid and perky flight maneuvers:

At first we did not have an explanation what the many barn swallows on the gravel path were doing. Until we saw this scene: they picked stones, obviously necessary for their digestion:

Yes, on this gravel path today nice sceneries took place, because the day before it rained and a gray wagtail wanted to take, together with her offspring, a bath in one of the many potholes on the road:

"Mum in fact flew away, but I just continue to bath. They in the car should wait!" - Which we enjoyed doing!

Mr. Spotless starling obviously also enjoyed the day!

"Great place here!":

Shortly before dawn this transformer building was filled with starlings, who ...

... arrived from all directions!

Hardly to recognize the kingfisher, which rushes with 180 over the Guadalquivir!

"I rather enjoy watching the goings-on from up here!":

Glossy ibises on the way to their sleeping places:

And here a young wheatear:

Yellow-crowned bishops you can see in Brazos del Este quite often. In any case we saw them every day on different places. Such nice birds! Their flight reminds of a bumblebee!
