A small Kentish plover also enjoys his young life and may walk to and fro without persecution by the black-winged stilts:
Mum little ringed plover in comparism gets up horrified from her clutch of eggs as a black winged stilt is approaching her very annoyed:
"This whole river-mouth is OURS and OUR chicks!" Mrs. Black-winged stilt snarls brusquely at Mrs. Little ringed plover. It's necessary to get rid of this angry black-winged stilt as quickly as possible and entice him away from the own nest. Only courage is not enough. And so Mrs. Little ringed plover takes some finesse in …
… pretending to have a broken wing and by that entice the annoyed black-winged stilts away from her nest. This number worked well by the way. Very soon the little ringed plovers can continue to breed without disturbance:
The black-winged stilt in the meantime discovered another, much bigger guy in its territory, namely this shocked little egret, who first anxiously cowered as the attacks from the air came:
After he tried to fight back and hoarsely make clear to the black winged stilt, that he never would do anything to his children:
In vain! All attendant stilts flew in great togetherness one attack after the other, as long till the poor little egret didn't have another chance but to flee:
"Get lost, you white giant! I NEVER want to see you near our children!" Mrs. Black-winged stilt admitted no doubt, that her words were to be taken serious:
Our little egret shook himself all of a ditter, after he finally found a quiet place. But the happiness about the new place shouldn't last long, because …
… another bigger little egret (in the middle of molting) landed, also chased away from the annoyed stilts:
And he took all his anger out on the young little egret, who now horrified took flight from his relative:
How many impressions we were able to get from the animals world again! And there is nothing better, but to enjoy all this in the company of like-minded friends. We all had been so enthralled and had so much fun!
