Cabo de Gata

Immediately after breakfast we went happily on our excursion tour.

At the beginning we were eager to visit the RAMSAR-area of the closed saline at the western edge of the Peninsula:

Because and of course we hoped to see many waders and water birds there:

But the rainfalls of the last days were very heavy ones and the water too deep for the waders. So we enjoyed the group of flamingoes (altogether there were about 400) in front of the scenery of volcanoes already extinct millions of years ago.

And turning for 180° you were in the middle of the spectacle of snow covered mountains of Almeria and ...

... the still heavily raging sea:

Such a beautiful and ...

... natural piece of earth!

Also at the only eponymous cliffs which are only a few kilometers away ...

... of Cabo de Gata the sea was foaming ...

... still with power over the lava rocks of the Sirena cliffs:
