After we saw where they landed, we easily were able to watch this very well camouflaged group also on the ground. What beautiful birds with these long beaks! And as I noticed that they even did not take off as two female walkers passed them quite closely, nothing could keep me in the camouflage tent car and I crawled to the group. The black-tailed godwits noticed of course my ludicrous looking stalking through the bushes. . They cocked their heads and watched me as if they wanted to say "We are not scared of you and that´s why we won´t fly off, but we only go a few steps further to look for food and enjoy our meal!" Such a beautiful experience!
